Dice Roller

Dice Roller is a free online tool that simulates rolling any type of dice — from a standard 6-sided die to polyhedral dice used in tabletop role-playing games. Select the number of dice, choose the number of sides (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, d100), add optional modifiers, and roll for an instant random result.

Dice rolling is fundamental to board games, tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, and Call of Cthulhu, war games, and educational probability demonstrations. A virtual dice roller is useful when physical dice are not available, when a specific die type (like a d10 or d20) is needed and not owned, when playing online or remote tabletop games, or when a fair, unbiased roll is needed for decision-making.

Tabletop RPG dice notation follows a standard format: XdY+Z, where X is the number of dice, Y is the number of sides per die, and Z is an optional modifier. Rolling 2d6+3 means roll two 6-sided dice and add 3 to the total. D&D 5th Edition uses a d20 for most ability checks, attacks, and saving throws, plus various other dice for damage. Character creation uses 4d6 drop lowest (roll four d6s and discard the lowest value).

The randomness is generated using the Web Crypto API for cryptographic-quality randomness, ensuring each roll is genuinely independent and unbiased — more reliable than most physical dice, which can have manufacturing imperfections that slightly bias certain faces.
