Delete your account

One AiCanCode account works on the website at aicancode.org and in the AiCanCode College Android app. Deleting it here deletes it everywhere. You can also do this in the app, under Settings → Delete account.

What is deleted

Your account is deleted straight away, together with the data attached to it:

  • Your account: your name, email address, mobile number, password, profile and preferences.
  • Your learning: course enrolments and lesson progress, quiz, mock-test and GATE attempts, coding and SQL practice, roadmap and interview practice progress, notes, bookmarks, saved diagrams, certificates, badges, streaks, XP, readiness scores, study plans, study-tool history, saved code snippets and résumés, and what Aria remembers about you.
  • Your activity: feed posts, comments, reactions, follows, notifications, feedback you sent us and your newsletter subscription.
  • Your college work on AiCanCode: your place on your college’s roster, your assignment hand-ins and the files you uploaded with them, internal marks and attendance records, and requests you made to your college. If you are college staff, your staff role is removed too.
  • Your study rooms: rooms you created, with everything in them, and your place in other people’s rooms.
  • Your subscriptions and devices: any subscription on the account, every signed-in session and every device registered for notifications. You are signed out everywhere, on the website and in the app.

What is kept, and why

  • Payment records: If you paid us, the record of that payment is kept for tax and accounting, but it is no longer linked to you or your account.
  • What you made for other people: Messages and drawings you added in other people’s study rooms stay in those rooms. If you teach at a college, the courses, materials, notices and assignments you created, the work you graded and the attendance you took stay for your college’s students. These are no longer linked to your account.

Before you delete

  • It cannot be undone. A deleted account cannot be restored. If you come back later you will start a new account from nothing.
  • College principals: if you are your college’s only principal, add another principal first, then delete your account. A college is never left without one.
  • To confirm, you type your password. If you sign in with Google or GitHub and have no password, you type your account’s email address instead.
